Forney ISD Air Force Junior ROTC Makes Donation to the Forney ISD Education Leadership Foundation

The Forney ISD Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) donated $250 to the Forney ISD Education Leadership Foundation to help support student scholarships and teacher grants.

The Forney ISD Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) donated $250 to the Forney ISD Education Leadership Foundation to help the foundation provide scholarships to graduating students and grants for teachers in Forney ISD.

The Forney ISD AFJROTC program raised the money through their FLAGS4Vets fundraiser that was held in October of 2015.  

The Forney ISD Education Leadership Foundation awards every graduating student in Forney ISD that meets the criteria with a $500 scholarship to be used to further their education at either a college or through a vocational trade certification program. The scholarship is paid out in increments over the course of the advanced education program.

The foundation also awards grants to teachers in Forney ISD. To date, the foundation has awarded more than $350,000 in grants to teachers to enhance the educational programs in their classrooms.

Forney ISD Education Leadership Foundation Receives Donation from Krogers Through Rewards Program

The Forney ISD Education Leadership Foundation recently received a donation from Krogers for $1,638.57 through the grocery store chain's Kroger Rewards Program. Through the Kroger Rewards Program, individuals who have designated the Forney ISD Education Leadership Foundation as the non-profit organization they want to support will have a percentage of their purchase go towards their non-profit organization. On a quarterly basis, Kroger presents a check to the foundation for all of the donations earned through the Kroger Rewards Program.

The Forney ISD Education Leadership Foundation earns approximately $7,000-$8,000 annually through the Kroger Rewards Program. The money generated for the foundation through the Kroger Rewards Program is used to fund student scholarships and teacher grants for Forney ISD teachers.

Krogers reports that the Forney ISD Education Leadership Foundation earns the highest amount of donations of any non-profit organization in the North Texas area through the Kroger Rewards Program.
